Reinhard Bonnke: TD Jakes, Benny Hinn, thousand others attend evangelist's funeral

The funeral of famous German evangelist, Reinhard Bonnke, who died on Saturday, December 7, 2019, drew thousands around the world, especially from the US.

It should be noted that the cleric had preached in more than 50 countries and said he has converted 79 million people to Christianity, RNS reports. Ministers of various churches have praised the late evangelist for his works. Renowned preachers like TD Jakes, Benny Hinn, and Paula White also paid their tributes.

The famous evangelist was said to have converted millions of people to Christianity and touched many lives through his crusades.

Despite the fact that the crowd was racially divided, they both sang the preacher’s favourite hymn with a unified voice.

During the funeral, clips of where the pentecostalist had been, were filmed on the big white screen. One of the best-known crusades, which happened in November 2000, Lagos where about 1.6 million people gathered, was also showed. It should be noted that towards the end of the preacher’s career, he held some of his revivals in the United States, a country he said must experience God’s true power.

Meanwhile, it was reported that Delta state governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, expressed sadness on the passing of famous evangelist

On December 7, the governor said Evangelist Bonnke will be sincerely missed by those whose lives he impacted on with his evangelism in Africa, America and other parts of the world.

He expressed appreciation to the late Bonnke for being a role model to many preachers in Africa and urged other religious leaders to emulate the sacrifice and commitment to the people of Africa as exemplified by the late Evangelist. “On behalf of the government and people of Delta, I express my profound condolences to his wife, Annie; his children - Kai-Uwe, Gabrielle, Susie - and grandchildren as well as all members of Christ for all Nations (CfaN). “It is my prayer that God will grant the family and all those who mourn him the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” he said.
